December Happenings

Well, we're finally getting a little sleep at night! Gia makes it through the night 90 percent of the time and Angelo is back to going to sleep on his own and usually staying in his bed during the night. It was a rough couple of weeks with both of them waking up!

Gia is now three months old! I can't believe it! She loves hanging out in her bouncy chair, under her little gym with a mirror and recently in the exersaucer. I'm not sure how much she weighs, but she is a chunk. I'm guessing it's around 15 - 16 pounds. She eats four bottles a day of 7 ounces and 7 teaspoons of rice in each bottle. She is such a sweet mellow little girl. She only gets upset if she's tired or hungry. She loves talking and is really funny when she starts up a conversation!

Angelo is getting happier to have a little sister, although there are still moments when he says, "No, Mommy, Gia don't want you to hold her." But he has started kissing her good night and helping me give her baths. He also likes showing her his Thomas the Train engines and telling her what color they are and how many wheels they have. She seems to recognize us all and gives us a big smile when she lays her eyes on us.

Last weekend we made the wintry trek to Des Moines for cousin Hazel's baptism. We didn't know if we were going to make it for a little while. I-80 was blizzardy conditions and at times we were only going 20 mph with our emergency flashers on. It took us a little over three hours!

We stayed at a Ramada Inn which had a water park. I highly recommend it for kids. Angelo was so excited to go down the water slides. I'm still a little soar from lifting him up all the stairs. He started to go down a few by himself and even went down some head first, he's a dare devil!

We all had a great time on the water slides. Grandma Cella, Aunt Lois, Cousin Landon and Uncle Mike all went down the slides as well. My Uncle Mikey was quite a site as he came flying down the slide like a torpedo! I still can't stop laughing about it!

Anyway the water park wore Angelo out! He fell asleep during the baptism, all the way home, went to bed early the next night and I could barely wake him the next morning!

Here he is sleeping on Grammy Cella during church. (Also, Grammy Cella has lost 9 pounds already in our 10X10 contest!)

Aunt Lois with her Granddaughter Hazel. Lois made Hazel the blanket she's wrapped in out of an old table cloth from Great Grandma Max and her own Wedding Veil. It was so pretty.

The Grandma's holding their Grand babies. Both are so cute, but so different looking. Gia was born two weeks after Hazel but she's a small giant compared to petite Hazel. It will be interesting to see if it stays that way!

December has been a busy month so far and it's about to get busier. I hope all of you are having a nice holiday season. Sorry for the delay in posts, but there is so much to get done this month. Happy Holidays everyone!
